Ashley’s Story
I knew from the beginning this Journey would be life changing, but never did I expect to gain such an amazing friendship. Our match couldn’t have been more perfect! After having my own 3 kids and watching people I know personally struggle with fertility, I knew I wanted to help someone start their own family.
When I first started looking into surrogacy, I had a hard time deciding on an Agency. I knew I wanted to find an agency where I wasn’t just a number. When I finally found “Footsteps to Family”, I knew they were the agency for me. I loved the personal feeling that I got when I contacted Rozanne. She answered every single question I had and was there for us every step of the way. Shortly after my screening process I was matched with a wonderful couple who had been trying to start their family for years. After reading their profile and seeing their picture, I just knew we were going to be a great fit. From the first time we talked on the phone to the first-time meeting in person for the transfer, it was like we had known each other for years.

Unfortunately, our first transfer did not take, but it was quickly decided that we would try again! Due to Covid we transferred again several months later, and we finally had our confirmed pregnancy! Thankfully my pregnancy was easy. Having three kids at home under the age of 6 and working a full-time job kept me busy, and the pregnancy flew by. Throughout the pregnancy the baby’s parents were very involved and supportive. They were always checking in on me and seeing if there was anything I needed and sending me care packages and flowers. They even flew in for the 20-week ultrasound. Watching them get to see their baby in action for the first time was nothing short of amazing!
Fast forward to baby girls’ delivery at 37 weeks! Mom and Dad had just driven over 20 hours and checked into their hotel the night before when I started having contractions. It was like baby knew her parents were coming! I checked into the hospital in the middle of the night and soon after called baby's Mom and Dad to come join. Labor went by so fast it was almost a blur. Six hours and one push later their baby girl was here! The feeling of watching them become parents for the first time, especially after everything they have been through was nothing short of a miracle. We can’t wait to start our second journey for baby number two!
